In season all year round:
chocolate figures by Riegelein

Confiserie Riegelein is one of Europe’s market leaders in the production of chocolate figures. More than 750 different chocolate products lie at the heart of the Riegelein product line. Whether Christmas, Easter, New Year, Valentine’s Day or Halloween, Riegelein offers an endless selection of seasonal chocolate articles. Every year, around 50,000 tons of chocolate are processed into chocolate figures and confectionery gifts under strict quality specifications.

We firmly believe that a true market leader not only follows trends, but also guides and initiates them.

The company is also renowned for its creativity and wide product variety beyond the borders of Germany. German chocolate products by Riegelein are exported to more than 50 countries, from Austria, Switzerland and France through Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and the USA to Canada, Australia, South Africa and Japan. The export quota is already approximately 40 percent today. And it goes without saying that Riegelein pays close attention to the special particularities of each individual country.

Founded in 1953, the company’s headquarters are in Cadolzburg near Nuremberg. In Cadolzburg, as well as in 6 other production sites, a total of about 1,600 people are employed depending on the season. In 1991, Saxony’s traditional chocolate factory Bergland was integrated into the Riegelein Group under the name Kathleen. In 1995, the Czech site in Jablonec was acquired. During the same year, the Riegelein France subsidiary was established with the sale office in Paris.

In 2019 the confectionery producers Riegelein and Rübezahl Schokoladen merged. The merger creates a chocolate company with annual sales of around 260 million euros. The managing directors are Claus Cersovsky – the former Rübezahl boss – and Peter Riegelein – the former Riegelein boss and Rüdiger Bonner. The family-owned companies emphasize that it is important to them to preserve the “DNA of medium-sized businesses”. In addition to Riegelein and chocri, the new group of companies now includes the well-known brands Gubor, Sun Rice, Friedel and Weseke.

Trusting customer relationships, consistent niche marketing and constant investment in product and process quality have enabled us to secure a leading position in the market and increase sales more than tenfold in the last 20 years. Thanks to their natural ingredients and delicate quality, Riegelein chocolate products have received multiple German and international awards.
